Booklovers’ Guide to Wine

I moved to South-West France in the early ‘70s, where Jude and I married and raised our two daughters, surrounded by the great vinyards of Bergerac, Pecharmant and Monbazillac.

Later we moved to Lake Lugano on the Swiss/ Italian border, surrounded by the great Nebbiolo vineyards of Piedemont such as Barolo and Barbaresco before eventually moving to California. Just south of San Francisco we were surrounded by the vineyards of the Santa Cruz mountains like David Bruce and Bonny Doon.

Finally we settled in South Florida, where there are no vineyards.

At the University of Miami, I developed a 12-hour wine-appreciation course and, after my retirement, I transferred the class to Books & Books, and the Coral Gables Museum where we offered the same 2-hour classes over a 6-week period.

When Covid caused a national lockdown, I offered the classes on Zoom.
